Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior ESP Engineer to join Al Dhafra Petroleum project. This position will be based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
This is a residential site based role, working 6 days / week for 10 hrs / day
Job Purpose:
Prepare, supervise and manage Pull/run and dis-assembly/assembly of water/oil wells ESP applications, carry out performance surveys, and provide operation with on-site support.
Key Accountabilities :
Accountability 1: Pre-Work-over preparations:
• Prepare pulling hoists movement plans, retrieve DWS for artificial lift work-over activities and required equipment/parts.
• Carry-out ESP simulation and equipment size/ selection before installation, this includes work-over material list.
• Coordinate with operation site preparation and pulling hoist roads opening
• Issue work-over material and equipment to work-over rig/PH and receiving back logs, this includes equipment matching compatibility and conformity.
• Carry out TRA sessions and issue Hot and/or Cold work permit in conjunction with operations.
Accountability 2: Supervises and directs the execution of planned, new projects and breakdown work-over for water /oil ESP wells:
• Confirm availability, adequacy and physical condition of the required material, equipment and tools required to perform pull/run and assembly/dis-assembly work safely and with the highest quality.
• Ensures availability of adequate manpower, materials, spares, tools and test equipment guided by standard procedures.
• Provides technical direction to subordinates to carry out pull/run and assembly/dis-assembly diagnoses and repairs.
• Inspects work progress/completed work through site visits and/or review of work records to ensure proper and timely execution.
• Carry out function test and commissioning of wells after work-over. Issue,
• Supervise and manage the operation of pulling hoists (mobile rig) and associated machinery and equipment, with fully adherence to ADNOC Onshore HSE policies and regulations this includes issuing pulling hoist pulling hoist daily activity timesheet, contractor manpower and machinery daily report and daily safety checking report.
• Coordinates work activities with other operation/maintenance/production Engineers in assigned field to ensure optimal use of manpower resources and equipment.
Accountability 3: Provide all fields operations with requested support for ESP applications:
• ESP system (down hole string and variable/fixed drives) trouble shooting/failure including, technical support activity covering subsurface and surface ESP equipment.
• Manage ESP performance data collection and carry out relevant surveys this includes down hole sensors data downloading and ESP controllers data down loading.
• Provide ESP controllers,/variable speed drives with settings and software backup.
• Provide all fields operation after installations well schematics and ESP operation envelop.
Accountability 4: Follow up material, equipment inventory stock and prepare ESP strings repair
• Raise material coding request, this includes prepare equipment specifications.
• Supervises the provision of efficient ESP workshop services and contractors' workshops in support of ESP strings repair.
• Prepare purchase requests to procure spares and materials as necessary and control the inventory of consumable, tools test equipment and lifting tackle. This includes considering of different scenarios.
• Verify ESP equipment stack and function test
• Prepare ESP sting repair requests and verify after repair test results, this includes dispatching of failed equipment to contractor work-shop.
• Ensures regular inspection and maintenance of workshop machinery, and test equipment.
• Issue ESP work-over requested material list and coordinate dispatching from BAB-13/contractor work-shop to well locations.
Accountability 5: Provide all fields new ESP projects with requested on-site support:
• Follow up projects progress and implementation of standards and specifications.
• Coordinate ESP system installation and manage on-site interfaces with other systems.
• Carry out site survey and introduce project punch list and supervise clearing of these items.
• Commission and test ESP systems.
Skills / Qualifications
Minimum Qualification:
• B.Sc. in Electrical/Petroleum Engineering
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Minimum Experience & Knowledge:
• For B, SC 5 years of experience, including at least 3 years in ESP applications.
• For Diploma 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years in ESP applications
Technical Competencies:
