Electrical Submersible Pump Engineer


Summary of Job Description:

•ESP Surveillance: to take charge of pump system design, optimization and performance analysis; to provide technical support for on-going operations, troubleshooting and well-site work management; to perform ESP runlife trends, Root Cause Failure Analysis; to ensure good coordination being in place between ESP and Genset providers to optimize uptime and overall ESP performance.

• ESP Installation and Workover Support: to confirm ESP design and ensure all the equipment are available to perform the job prior to rig move on location; to coordinate with Warehouse to timely mobilize the equipment required for the ESP installation; to review and validate ESP installation procedure and provide technical support for on-going ESP installation; to interfere job progress if needed with the WellWork Supervisors and the WellWork Superintendent as required; to coordinate ESP provider for RCFA.

• ESP Surface Civil Work and Commissioning: to coordinate Civil Work & Installation of ESP Surface Equipment, ESP commissioning/decommissioning; to coordinate ESP start up, water source ESP flushing operations, flowline reconnection and Production/Injection ramp-up steps

• ESP Equipment Inventory Management: to maintain an inventory tracking system inclusive of forecasts for projects & predictive stock replenishment for ESP replacement; to identify refurbished equipment; to ensure adequate preservation of materials in stock. Temperature controlled chamber is available at the warehouse if required

• The working time at field takes 60%, at office 40%.


Activites:

ESP Surveillance, Operation & Maintenance:

• Steward ESP pump system design, optimization and performance analysis in order to continuously improve the overall ESP system performance & reliability

• Provide technical support for on-going ESP operations, troubleshooting, maintenance and well-site work management

• Perform KPI tracking and trending inclusive of associated reporting - ESP runlife trends, Root Cause Failure Analysis report

• Review ESP daily, monthly and yearly Operation reports, and provide timely recommendation to improve ESP operations

• Ensure good coordination being in place between ESP and Genset providers to optimize uptime and overall ESP performance


ESP Installation and Workover Support

• Confirm ESP design and ensure all the equipment are available and PO in place to perform the job prior to rig move on location

• Coordinate with Warehouse to timely mobilize the equipment required for the ESP installation to ESP provider workshop for pre-installation check and perform any additional test if required

• Review and validate ESP installation procedure and provide technical support for on-going ESP installation.

• Interfere job progress if needed with the WellWork Supervisors and the WellWork Superintendent as required during the workover job

• Keep track of all pulled equipment and related reports, pictures

• Ensure As built Drawing, well sketch and related pulled reports have been provided and properly stored in the well file

• Coordinate with ESP provider to schedule pulled equipment inspection, testing and teardown and perform Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)

• Coordinate with ESP provider and Wellwork Superintendent to dispose useless pulled equipment at the scrap yard following the proper procedure in place


ESP Surface Civil Work and Commissioning

• Coordinate Civil Work & Installation of ESP Surface Equipment, ESP commissioning/decommissioning includes flowline and cable tray removal prior to rig work and flowline connection and cable tray installation after rig moves off location

•Coordinate ESP start up, water source ESP flushing operations, flowline reconnection and Production/Injection ramp-up steps


ESP Equipment Inventory Management

• Maintain an inventory tracking system inclusive of forecasts for projects & predictive stock replenishment for ESP replacement

• Identify refurbished equipment and ensure used as needed for workovers after being bunch tested and having passed the test

• Identify material to be junked or scrapped and coordinate with Wellwork Superintendent to dispose them in the scrap yard

• Ensure adequate preservation of materials in stock. Temperature controlled chamber is available at the warehouse if required

• Ensure contractor reports materials inventories on a regular basis and ensure materials and supplies are on hand and ready for execution of the work program

• Monitor contractor performance and equipment delivery schedules and follow up with contractor on performance deficiencies or equipment delivery delays


ESP Engineer Work Interfaces

• Major interface with WellWork Operations group for ESP workover program execution

• Major interface with other Subsurface Technical groups - Reservoir & Geoscience for ESP program implementation

• Interfaces with other FOD Departments, mainly Procurement, Materials and Warehouse, Accounting/Finance, Surface Project Engineering, Maintenance, Production Operations

• Participate in daily ESP Operations meetings with ESP provider

• Participate in weekly Artificial Lift meeting with ESP provider

• Participate in weekly Rig scheduling meeting with Wellwork, Operation Technical and Reservoir Development

• Capture or facilitate capture of ESP operations and installation lessons learned and share with other staff involved in ESP operations to ensure continuous work improvement


Skills / Qualifications

Qualifications

• Completion of Secondary (11 years) education plus 2 years formal vocational training leading to a Diploma.

• Basic knowledge for Mechanical/Electrical knowledge within Oil & Gas industry.

• Minimum 5 years' working experiences on ESP systems.

• Fluent in Arabic and English.
