Saudi Aramco Nabors Drilling Company (SANAD) Job Vacancies

Saudi Aramco Nabors Drilling Company, or SANAD, is a 50/50 joint venture partnership between Saudi Aramco and Nabors. SANAD is one of the anchor projects that has emerged from Saudi Arabia's efforts to introduce world-class industry hubs locally, in order to foster economic growth and job creation. Nabors and Saudi Aramco have made contributions of equal value consisting of cash and/or assets into the entity. Additionally, Nabors and Saudi Aramco have agreed that SANAD will purchase and operate fifty (50) locally-sourced newly constructed rigs over a ten year period, at defined contracted economics.




Roles and Responsibilities:

• Monitor the monthly close process and ensure proper documentation and filing of support information

• Calculate and prepare journal entries for local transactions as indicated in the monthly close

• Maintain leasing and subleasing master data base with high proficiency in IFRS 16 and GCC VAT compliance

• Follow up on monthly invoicing, working capital management and AR to ensure timely accounting activities

• Reconcile complex FA registers, eliminations, Statutory and GAAP recos.

• Assist with tax forecasting and local reporting

• Assist with local regulatory filings in order to meet all local compliance requirements

• Prepare accounting and administration reports as required


Operational (General):

• Provide assistance to SANAD’s other business units on issues pertinent to job function; participate in performing routine checks and inspections to ensure the highest safety and quality standards are being maintained if required

• Take care of health, safety and environmental impact both personally, and for others who may be affected in the workplace. Cooperate with the Company and co-workers to help everyone meet their legal and company requirements

• Adapt to, and participate in, any programs/changes in SANAD including but not limited to strategic initiatives, operational initiatives and performance uplift tasks; conduct any relevant work that may result from these changes as an integral part of this job description and employment contract

• Help support the organization in extraordinary events such as claims by contractors, dispute reviews and participation in arbitration

• Perform any other activity as required by the company both at the company premises and remotely when requested by the company

• Proactively seek out information that is relevant to job role whether internally or externally to efficiently and effectively deliver. Remain up to date with context of the Company and the role within it to provide insight on potential opportunities and/or challenges

• Contribute to the execution and delivery of any activities as and when required to ensure the continuity of work in the absence of other colleagues


Product / Process Improvement:

• Proactively evaluate the effectiveness of processes utilized within the designated department, and make and implement improvements as needed in order to increase efficiency


Physical Working Conditions:

• Normal working conditions (office): travel for trainings; company events when requested


Job Qualifications and Requirements:

• A minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience

• ORACLE experience is highly desirable

• Multinational business familiarity preferred

• Experience in drilling/oilfield service industry preferred

• Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or relevant field




Roles and Responsibilitoes:

• Contribute to the development of the Internal Audit’s strategy and participate in its implementation by performing any delegated activities from Senior Management as requested.

• Provide input for enhancement on the development and implementation of audit and compliance policies, procedures, systems and frameworks to ensure effectiveness and sustainability of controls across SANAD.

• Contribute recommendations to the Internal Audit budget to raise awareness on anticipated costs/ revenues pertaining to audit plans and identify potential areas of cost reduction or performance improvement opportunities.

• Plan, execute and direct audits ensuring the application of Audit policies and procedures across SANAD.

• Oversee and develop an audit plan for Surveys functions and activities in assigned areas to determine the nature of operations and the adequacy of the system of control to achieve established objectives.

• Provide guidance in determining the appropriate auditing procedures, including statistical sampling and the use of electronic data processing equipment.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of financial/operations systems, ensuring adherence to established auditing techniques.

•  Appraise evidentiary data as a basis for an informed, objective opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system and the efficiency of performance of the activities being reviewed.

• Direct, counsel, and instruct staff assigned to supervise audits, reviewing their work including field memos and audit reports for sufficiency of scope and for accuracy.

• Supervise the activities of professional-level Auditors assigned to the review of various organizational and functional activities.

• Schedule audit plans in order to manage the scope, staffing assignments, objective, duration, and frequency of audits, ensuring alignment with regulatory and contractual requirements and in accordance with acceptable audit standards and approved schedules.

• Review and approve the purpose, scope and audit approach of each audit project.

• Oversee the preparation of reports of audit findings and recommendations, to inform management on resulting evaluations of audited functions and take appropriate action.

• Review and evaluate auditees' formal replies to audit reports to ensure proposed departmental actions are in line with report findings and recommendations.

•  Liaise with Department Managers and Division Heads to ensure continuing cooperation in audit activities in order to fulfil audit objectives in a timely manner.

• Review the soundness, adequacy and application of accounting, financial, functional and operational controls by performing periodic risk assessments.

•  Identify and recommend updates to audit systems and procedures to ensure continued compliance and risk mitigation.

Education and Certifications:

• Mandatory: Bachelors’ degree in relevant field

Roles and Responsibilities:

•  Consults with Management to develop audit plans and schedules, as 
necessary. 
•  Identifies the necessary resources to meet audit plans and ensures the 
resources are available. 
•  Establishes audit objectives in accordance with: 
      o Management priorities 
      o Commercial requirements 
      o Company policies 
      o Statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements 
•  Performs audits and testing in accordance with: 
      o Number, importance, complexity, similarity, and locations of activities. 
      o Standards, statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements. 
      o Scope, objective, and duration of each audit. 
      o Frequency of audits. 
•  Develops and presents reports to management on audit scope, issues, root 
causes, and recommendations for preventing and minimizing future control 
risks. 
•  Monitors and follows up on audit recommendations to ensure required actions 
have been implemented; reports the adequacy and timing of required actions. 
•  Performs risk assessments, as required.

•  Plans and performs audits utilizing tools and techniques common to the audit 
profession; follows internal audit/control policies, procedures, and standards. 
•  Coordinates and supports efforts with second-party and third-party auditors, as 
needed. 
•  Maintains knowledge of applicable second-party and third-party regulations and 
requirements. 
•  Assists with development of policies, procedures, and manuals, as needed. 
•  Performs any other duties and projects as requested. 

•  Proactively evaluate the effectiveness of processes utilized within the 
department, and make and implement improvements as needed in order to 
increase efficiency. 

•  Normal working conditions (office): travel for trainings; company events when 
requested. 
• Travel, as required, estimated to be approximately 60% of time. 


Job Qualifications and Respinsibilities:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a finance or audit role. 
• Working experience in the drilling industry or with an oil-related service company is 
preferred; marine experience will be considered also. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office. 
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills. 
• Ability to work with fine details to solve problems. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
• Bi-lingual preferred (Arabic, English). 
• Commitment to customer service. 
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment. 

Education and Certifications:
