- Disassemble and inspect failed ESP components to help identify what failed and why it failed.
- Provide detailed teardown findings along with photographs after the dismantle to the Reliability Manager.
- Provide Root Cause Analysis and Dismantle and Inspection reports of failed electric submersible pumping (ESP) systems
- Conduct Root Cause Failure analyses using industry standards
- Maintain all dismantled wells
- Help coordinate ESP teardown scheduling
- Support the Permian Reliability Manager
- Support Sales during Customer Failure Reviews
- Provide statistical analyses of Run Lives, Root Causes, and Failures
- Ability to communicate in a professional business manner
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- At least one years’ experience in ESP Reliability Engineering
- Solid technical writing skills
- Strong computer skills
Summary of Essential Functions:
Under general supervision, performs ESP installations and pulls, routine checks, and troubleshooting. Provides instruction and technical support to customer personnel in the proper handling and operating procedures of ESPs.
Specific Duties, Activities and Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
- Perform installation/pulling of Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESP) and associated equipment
- Assists with monitoring, trouble shooting and testing downhole ESP equipment to maximize well productivity and ESP run life
- Performs basic well production analysis and repair of equipment and tests, splices, and repairs cable.
- Prepares paperwork to include IFTA reports, billable and non-billable hours, and mileage.
- Trains and coaches new hires in basic principles.
- Maintain mechanical performance of truck used in transportation to and from the field. Train and mentor lower level technicians at the well site
EHS Requirements::
- Complete all work in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements consistent with supporting the company's TRIR goals
- Follow all environmental requirements consistent with supporting the company's environmental performance goals
- Complete, and actively participate in all of the company's EHS training requirements
Position Requirements:
- Requires a High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- A clean driving record is required for vehicle operators.
- 3-4 years’ artificial lift experience is preferred
- A commercial driver’s license is preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence as required
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Basic hand tool proficiency
- Basic computer skills required to operate computerized test equipment
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- A combination of the above qualifications will also be considered
Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to safely bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at area.
- Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate hand tools and mechanical tools.
- Must be able to work at a fast pace.
- Must be able to tolerate changing priorities, and complete assignments despite frequent interruptions.
- Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
Work Environment:
Work environment is typically considered within an ELS location during normal or extended business hours. Work environment may also include customer sites including oil well sites, and meeting venues.
3. Cable Spooler
Summary Of Essential Functions:
Under general supervision is responsible for spooling and banding electrical power cable utilized on ESP systems in coordinated effort and procedure with field service tech that is overseeing the ESP install or pull on customer job site.
Specific Duties, Activities and Responsibilities Include Bit are Not Limited To:
- Ability to be on call 24/7
- Ability to travel to the field location daily in company work truck
- Spools cable onto cable reel as the tubing is being pulled out of the well
- Bands cable onto tubing as the downhole equipment and tubing are being run into the well
- Maintains cable service truck and trailer, performs daily inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations
- Proper completion of DOT logbooks, DOT inspection forms, and turn in for office records
- Completes daily timesheet
- Conducts field analysis and tests cable strings after they have come out of the well
- The ability to collect information during testing and inspection to provide customers with recommendations on equipment or cable status
- Quickly adjusts to changing job assignments/requirements and the flexibility to work overtime with little or no advance notice
- Assist field service technicians on location as required
EHS Requirements:
