Job Purpose / Objective

The Technical Development Program (TDP) Operations Engineer role offers recent graduates a comprehensive learning and development experience within Arabian Drilling (AD). Through rotations in various engineering disciplines critical to drilling operations, mentorship, and hands-on projects, the TDP Operations Engineer will gain practical experience and develop a strong foundation in drilling technology, equipment, and processes. As a TDP Trainee, the primary focus is to acquire all necessary knowledge and skills for a future career in this field. This is achieved by following the program structure, completing all required training outlined in the TDP manual within the designated timeframe, and gaining experience in all aspects program’s phases.


Key Accountabilities

Rotational Learning: 
•    Follow the established Technical Development Program (TDP) curriculum outlined in the TDP manual.
•    Complete all required training modules and assignments within the designated timeframe for each rotational phase.
•    Participate in rotations through diverse engineering departments within AD’s organization (e.g., drilling engineering, wellbore completions, rig operations, maintenance department).
•    Gain practical experience by assisting Rig Managers with daily tasks, project execution, and problem-solving activities.
•    Shadow experienced personnel on the rig site to observe drilling operations firsthand.



Technical Skills Development: 
•    Apply engineering principles and knowledge acquired during academic studies to real-world drilling challenges.
•    Participate in technical training programs and workshops to broaden knowledge and skillset.
•    Conduct research and prepare analytical technical reports on assigned projects.


Key Accountabilities

Project Involvement: 
•    Contribute to ongoing engineering projects under the guidance of senior engineers.
•    Assist in data analysis and interpretation to support decision-making processes.
•    Develop recommendations for optimizing drilling operations and improving efficiency.


Relevant Experience

•    Prior experience in the oil and gas industry (a plus).
•    Experience with engineering design software or similar technical applications (a plus).
